Loox5 LED model 2090-3090 miniature recessed or surface mounted lights

Model 2090 is the 12 volt version, and model 3090 is the 24 volt version. They are the same light. Same size, same finish options, same ability to recess mount or surface mount them. Both the 12v and 24v come in 7 finishes each, we will list the 5 that we feel are the mainstream colors. And then each comes in 4 kelvin ratings. 2700K and 3000K are considered warm white lights. 4000K and 5000K are cool white lights. This is the hue of the light output, warmer or cooler. Each light is only 1.2 watts. This is a common bookcase light where only accent lighting is needed.

The 12v version can be used on boats operating from 12Vdc. Both the 12v and 24v both are great for shelf lighting and for bookcase lighting. Eye-like LED lights, about the size of a US Quarter, pinpoint a low level of light where you want it. Considered for accent lighting purposes, Loox5 2090-3090 lights are still dimmable if you choose to do so. Though in most cases, we think you would use them at full power.

They recess mount into a 1" hole. You can surface mount them as well. And you have lots of options for the decorative portion of the light, which is sold separately. There are round or square recessed mounting rings, and then round or square surface mount options in the same finishes. You can create a lot of different looks with this light. Each light comes with a 79" lead wire preattached to it. Since they are only 1.2 watts, with the aid of multiple terminal block extenders, you can hook up a ton of them to the various size LED power drivers. For instance, 16 could run from the small 20-watt LED driver with 3 terminal block extenders. So if creating a bookcase with a lot of lights, very easy to control them all together.

This light is predominately used in bookcases, or cubby hole type displays where low level of light is wanted. They are not bright like a 3 watt LED, so they are not a task light. Call them a display light for showing off books, vases, crystal and other items that they can shine downward upon. You would not use these for under cabinet lights to light your countertops. The back of the light has 2 wide friction fit clips. They are designed to hold the light in a 26mm hole (1").

When surface mounting, the distance ring mounts to the surface with two screws. Then the light and decor ring snap into that collar. The decor ring just twists onto the light itself. It is this ring that completes the surface mount decorativeness.

Model 2090-3090 lights are dimmable when used with the Loox5 LED power drivers. 79" lead wire preattached to each light. Extension wires are available when a longer reach may be required. The lights have an IP20 water resistance rating when surface mounted, IP44 when recessed mounted.

What do we choose to stock?

The 2090-3090 Loox5 lights were just added to our website in May, 2022. Thus far, we are going to order them as we get requests for them. It generally takes us 3 to 6 days to receive lights from Hafele, depending upon which of their warehouses they ship from. So we can get them rather quickly. With technically the 20 choices among mounting rings and their colors, that opens up a lot of choices to stock. So for now, we will just order these as requested.

Recessed mount decor rings

The rings fit on either choice of light, 12v or 24v. You have round or square options in 5 finishes each. You MUST select one to go with your lights. Or one of the surface mount options that will be shown next. The recessed mount rings twist onto the face of the light. Then when you push the light into your hole, this ring holds the light at the correct placement to the surface. The friction fit clips are what holds the light in the hole. Choose one ring for each light that you order.

Surface mount rings

Rings fit both lights, 12v or 24v. You have round or square options in 5 finishes each. Choose one ring per light for surface mounting options. If you are recessing your lights and already picked recessed rings, ignore these next selections.

The decor ring portion of the surface mount ring combo twists onto the face of the light. The surface mount collar mounts to your woodwork or surface with two screws. Then the friction fit clips snap the ring into the collar. The collar is notched so your light wire can exit to the side if you like. Or you can bore a hole and run the wire back to your LED driver location.

LED Power Drivers and Distributors to use

1 to 6 lights can easily connect into one distributor. With the aid of terminal block extenders, or additional distributors, up to 16 of this 1.2 watt light could run from one 20 watt driver. Bigger bookcases potentially could have just one 40 watt driver to power 33 lights.
