Hafele Loox Dimmers and Switches

Loox LED lighting has 12 volt and 24 volt systems. We are offering a few of their 12 volt systems and 24 volt systems that we really like. Some that fill a need for similar size halogen lights discontinued by Hera Lighting.

All switches on this page work with both 12V and 24V LED power drivers. AND they work equally with Loox4 or Loox5 LED power drivers. They are not restricted to one or the other. Your choice of switches are:

All the above switches connect to the black side port on the older style Loox Power Drivers, or into the black port on the switch enabled 12V Loox5 block distributors, and the 24V switch enabled block distributors.

The lead for modular switch is needed to connect the switch to the driver or distributor. Those come in 3 lengths.

When you look at some of the extended pictures for the dimmer, you will see the back end of it. This is where the Lead for Modular Switch connects and then the other end plugs into the side port on the driver. The leads come in three lengths. The dimmer switch, as well as the other three switches shown, can be mounted into a hole bored into your light rail or other woodwork. Or you can order the switch housing for a convenient way of mounting the switches.

Note that the door switch is generally mounted behind a door. When you open the door and leave it open, lights come on. Close the door, lights off.  The on-off switch is just a simple on-off function. And the motion switch will pick up you, your animals, or anyone else walking across the room within its 118" range.

When you look at some of the extended pictures for the dimmers, you will see the back side of them. This is where the Lead for Modular Switch connects and then the other end plugs into the side port on the driver, we show those pictures for the touch dimmer. The touch-free hooks up the same way. The leads come in three lengths and are shown higher up on this page. Do take a look at the extended pictures for the Touch-Free dimmer. The edge opposite where the lead wire connects in has the IR sensor. It kind of looks like a port, but it is two optical sensors. This is the edge that you want to position forward so when you wave your hand to turn the lights on or off, and to set the dimming level, you want it to be convenient. The sensor picks up motion from 0 to 3 inches away.

Both of the square dimmers can be mounted with two supplied screws, or the supplied double sided tape wafer. They are extremely lightweight. And both work with the 12 volt and 24 volt Loox LED lights.

One switch works per one driver or distributor. All 6 switches shown on this page have a 90 watt maximum. Even on the 90 watt 24V driver, it is unlikely that you would load it with 30 of the 3-watt LED lights. You could, but most applications are not this large. So very doubtful that you would even come close to exceeding the maximum on the switches unless using some of Hafele's Tape LED lighting in very long lengths.

If using the older style drivers, until they run out, you will attach the switch via a lead for modular switch to the driver. Very simple plug and play attachment. The dimmer or other switch will control every light attached to the driver. If using Loox4 terminal block extenders to connect a greater number of lights to the driver, lights connected via the terminal block will also be controlled. (Use Loox5 terminal block extenders for Loox5 lights.) So if you have more than 6 lights in your set up, and you wish them all controlled together, use one of the greater capacity drivers with terminal block extenders, and then you need just one switch to connect into the driver.

On the new Loox5 drivers, similar set up. There are two distributors each for the 12V and 24V systems that have built in switching ports. One distributor has connection ports for the new Loox5 lights with updated light yellow connections, or the dark green. The other distributor has the older ports connections, orange or normal green to allow older Loox LED lights to connect. These distributors have a side port on them for the switch to attach to via a lead for modular switch cable. They will act the same way. The switch will control lights only connected to that distributor. Thus, if you daisy chain distributors, those in the downline will NOT be controlled by that switch. If you need to control more than 6 lights with the switch, you will use terminal block extenders attached into the distributor.
