Loox5 2034-3034 Flexible Arm LED Light

This flexible arm reading light has some nice perks. First, you can of course pinpoint the light where you want it. So it is very nice as a personal reading light for a bedroom headboard. It is 3000K warm white for that nice soft evening lighting. Ideal for cutting glare bouncing back from white pages in your book or magazine. It can also be used as a great desk lamp. Remember the old days of a 60 watt light bulb glowing on your desk, throwing heat, and using those 60 watts per hour? This 1.5 watt reading light places the light on your work surface where you need it.

In our expanded photos when clicking on a picture below, you will see how the decorative ring on the base comes off to reveal the screw holes for mounting of the light. That ring is actually magnetic. You can peel it off gently. When putting it back on, it kind of snaps into position on its own. Yes, we thought that was pretty cool too.

Lights DO NOT have an attached lead wire, you will select the 2 meter (79"), or 1 meter (39") cable. It snap connects into the light, and then the other end for easy connection into Loox 12 volt or 24 volt LED drivers. If planning on using 2 lights from the same driver, the 20 watt driver is fine, UNLESS you are planning on using the charging port in each light to power your devices. If that is the case, step up to the 40 watt driver and then you can keep devices connected to the bases of each light and charge what you need. When charging devices, the power consumption can be up to 17 watts per light. When using the light only, power consumption is 1.5 watts per light.

The lights are 1.5 watts for the light, and 17 watts total if planning on using the USB charging port in the base. If ordering just one light, then the 20 watt LED power driver is fine. If planning two lights per driver, consider the 40 watt driver (or 24V) with the lights. Lights can be controlled individually by their base switch. So if multiple lights on the same driver, each light has separate on-off function in its base. Ideally meant for mounting to vertical wall applications, but can be mouted on horizontal surfaces. If on a horizontal surface, you will reduce the overall reach of the flex arm by a little bit as it would have to curve first to reach your desired angle. Vertically mounted applications give you the best reach with the flex arm.

Lead wire: The Loox5 2034-3034 lights DO NOT have a pre-attached lead wire. You need to select the 2 meter or 1 meter long lead wire PER LIGHT. It has a special connection end that fits into the light, other end connects to the driver or distributor.

Point to make about the drivers: If you are planning to use just one light per driver, then you do not need a distributor. The driver has an output port on its end, a distributor is for the purpose of connecting more lights to a drivers, as with the under cabinet spotlights. If using only one of these reading lights, the lead wire can feed directly out of the driver. All the Loox5 input and output ports are the same. All extension wires have the same connection ends/ports. But there are SPECIAL LEAD WIRES such as those that you need to purchase separately with this light. One end of that wire is designed for this special port on the light. But the other end is the normal male end connection port for Loox5. So it can snap directly into the driver with no need of a distributor.

Now, if you are considering the 40, 60, or 90 watt drivers because you will connect more lights to a driver, then you need the distributor. And the non-switching version in this case since each light has a built in high-low/off-on switch in its base.

Select the light with the 20 watt driver and one adapter to make the connection on the driver go from Loox5 to Loox4.
